So what's George Bush got to lose?

Other republicans have come out against trump. What's he got to lose? trump's going to lose anyway, but that would seal his fate with any " sane" republicans left out there.

Just wondering. trump can't hurt him in anyway, so wondering why he hasn't said anything yet. The door has been opened now by all the people speaking out. That old school thought of not speaking bad about the president , that book has been thrown out.

Especially if the republicans want to wrestle the party back from trumpism/qanon/conspiracy theories. Bush is no angel himself, we all know that. He has his own sins to atone for. Still, I don't see him as a trump supporter.

... the Bush family either voted for Hillary or a third party candidate. I'm sure Biden versus Trump will be the same. Maybe they think a bunch of very public Bush endorsements could hurt Biden?

And Barbara Bush was very outspoken in her contempt for Trump. Plus, the Bushes seem to be quite friendly with the Obamas. POTUS is a very exclusive club and current presidents have a history of turning to former presidents for advice, regardless of party. Trump has violated that "norm" as he has so many others.

[My wife, through a kind of random chance, sat next to him at a hospital photo op when he was prez. Talked with him some as the set pieces were arranged. Wifey said dumya seemed like a polite, even amiable guy, just going through the motions].

I’ve wondered the same as you about George Bush. Surely, Trump does not represent his political values or the Republican Party’s political values. As we have heard uttered before via Trump, “what does he have to lose?!”

They just don't like the way he presents them. trump's election is the natural result of 30 years of republicans instilling fear of the other within their ranks, pandering to the religious fanatic vote and so on. They've taught their voters to ignore the logs in their eyes, while making up lies about their opponents.

Why do you think republikkklans voted for trump? He promised he would get it done, unlike his predecessors. Why do you think they voted against impeachment, even though he is as corrupt as hell? They bent over backwards every step of the way to encourage and support him in getting their agenda passed.

All I can say is thank Goddess we won the house in 2016 or we would be in much worse shape today than we are.

I'm not sure how much he would really help Biden. And I think he has mostly tried to stay away from the spotlight the last 12 years. Maybe jumping back in it now doesn't make sense.

If he was more outspoken and publicly involved it might. But he's not. Let him paint his pictures.

History will not forget his failed presidency.

Anyone that cares what he thinks knows he doesn’t support Trump. A Bush endorsement might also hurt Biden on the left. Better to leave it alone and show up for the inauguration parties.

he was younger. Vandalizing her property, or some such. Now he's been elected to office in TX as a total MAGAT. Given the "awesome principles" this family has displayed. I could see them not wanting to antagonize bloated Caligula.

not being a true conservative. Not respecting conservative values. Not respecting the constitution. Yada Yada - the usual republican drivel. The two things could exist. Bolton for instance, has said he will not vote for Biden, but will not vote for trump either, others have said the same. Rejecting trump does not have to mean an automatic endorsement for Biden.
It is interesting how quiet he's been when others in his administration have weighed in.

Exposing him to crimes he was involved with. Trump has a history of doing this to others , and he'll try to expose him and others when he loses badly as revenge.

If an undecided voter hears that Bush is stumping for Joe Biden, they might reconsider the positive thoughts they had for the VP.

I don't think that the Biden campaign is on the phone to Cheney or Rumsfeld either, for similar reasons.

26. Consider this...

Back when Dubya won his Presidential terms and the nefarious problems that popped up during them. President Obama chose not to pursue prosecutions of anything previously done to help unite the country, even though it could have also unleashed a Pandora's box of trying to correct what never should have been in the first place... Think about the timeline and actual further damage it would cause going forward to upset and destroy everything. And that would not even touch all of the laws that would have to be rewritten and decisions overturned, and it becomes obvious that the timeline would never be corrected the way it should have been. A lot of damage could not be undo without doing more damage to people.

Now, during Dubya's Presidential win's, there was a lot of shady things happening and some of his wins could not be explained. Putin was watching everything the Republican Party and Bush campaign was doing to cheat out victories and he filed it away. Dubya got Putin to go along with his Iraq invasion by promising that oil prices would go up sharply bringing a money boom for Russia's oil exports, which if you remember became a big problem in the United States with gas prices. But Dubya double crossed Putin and during the a period between Dubya and President Obama, gas prices dropped again. Then President Obama got into office and did no favors for Putin and held him in check with sanctions, so Putin went to work inciting garbage against President Obama and the Democratic Party over the internet and pushing his asset which helped cut Obama's power in domestic U.S.A. with what he learned from watching Dubya's victories. But it wasn't enough to defeat President Obama and give us President Romney, because President Obama was too liked and popular.

So when 2016 came along and it was clear a member of Obama's Administration was going to run for the Dems, whom Putin hated very much with very much disdain, so he enlisted his Useful Idiot asset and went full throttle for his Idiot Asset and the Republican Party to keep that Idiot Asset in power, whom Putin could squeeze.

Who knows exactly how long this Russian crap has been tied to the Republican Party as they played Ronald Reagan against the Evil Empire? How much has Putin given his Useful Idiot to keep the Bush's in check?
