Reminding the public of who Romney really is and what he actually did as a 'businessman', outsource American jobs to China, India, etc, is important.

Surely a lot of those people had to take jobs at the Walmart and such, and aren't paying federal taxes and may even need food stamps to feed their families. You know, the 47% who will "never take personal responsibility for their lives."
We must remind people of Romney's role in creating that group in the first place.

...as much money as possible in as short a time as possible. Anything that even slowed down the money they could make was considered disposable.

It's exactly the difference between a business and the real economy of a nation. You can't just dispose of people, much less doing so without consequences.

They care about making money for their CxOs and shareholders. They don't much care how they do it or who they hurt in the process. Because they have no conscience. They have no conscience because they. are. not. people. There are however, people who also have no conscience. We call them psychopaths. Mitt Romney is probably one of them. George W. Bush was probably another. The Koch Brothers? Absolutely.

Look out. These people and entities run. the. world.

Bain is just the tip of the iceberg.

This is the huge moral issue of our time. Not abortion. Not gays. Those things are just distractions from the real problem: The unmitigated love of and pursuit of money and profit at all cost to humans, society, economies.

Why do you think they hate regulations? Because regulations force them to care. Sometimes regulations make it hurt THEM to hurt others for profit. They don't like that. But - BUT - that's the only way they will STOP. Not stop making profits. No one wants that. But it's the only way they will STOP HURTING PEOPLE in order to do it - it has to hurt THEM to hurt others. It's that way for all psychopaths (or whatever conscienceless entity in question). It's the only thing that makes them stop hurting someone else to get what they want.

Corporations can make profits and be successful while also being socially responsible and moral. While also caring. We've seen some of them do it. Bain certainly was not one of them. But Bain is just part of a bigger issue. It's the epitome of THE bigger issue.

...as an "inspiration for Gordon Gekko". It was a whole wave, enabled by deregulation, changes in the tax code, willingness to exploit the tax code in previously unexplored ways, the economic situation of the 70s which opened the door to delegitimizing any restrain on "free trade", and a number of other factors.

I'd tried to keep some tabs on what was happening starting before Clinton, with books like Bartlett and Steele's America: What Went Wrong, and I don't recall Romney's name. He might have been mentioned, but only as one of dozens of operators using the same bag of tricks.

I am, however, perfectly willing to use Mitt as a poster boy for that whole view that "success" is how much money you bring in (and nothing else) and to delegitimize the notion that government regulation is "interference" with the economy.

They have blocked all media discussion by airing the "Come on down to the coast" commercials all up and down the coast so much that they are, by far, the biggest advertiser on the coast for all media outlets since the spill. No stories about what is going on, or what it has done to folks down here are being done b/c the media outlets do not want to get cut off for doing victim impact stories. Obama was co-opted right before the mid term elections when people were saying this would be his Katrina. BP has bribed the Republican coastal Governors who have lined up like pigs at a trough for the money for their buddies in the clean up business. HELP DU!!! HELP GET THE WORD OUT ON WHAT A HEARTLESS FORIEGN CORP IS DOING TO US AND OUR FORMERLY GREAT NATURAL RESOURCE! The sea life is dying, the shrimp crab and oysters are almost all gone now. The whole Apalachicola Bay was just declared a "Fisheries Disaster" by, wait for it, Governor Rick Scott of Florida. Bet you have not heard about that! The whole bay is dead, along with the famous Apalachicola oysters. WTF!!!!

Even then, they find ways to squirrel out of being responsible for anything. Including paying taxes on their humongous profits. The crimes these snakes in suits have gotten away with are SO utterly immoral.

Imagine what will happen if they finally have the keys to the entire nation because they bought themselves a "President" (ie: a robosigner) - and they learn that they can do it again. And again. And again. Who will be running the U.S.? Monsanto. Exxon-Mobil - hell they almost already are.

This is the last step. If we let them have this, then they'll have it all. For forty years, they've waited for this. They've planned and schemed, and infiltrated, suppressed the vote, ursurped our voices in every way possible (ALEC, for instance) propagandized America into a nation of mush-brains with their Fox "News" and goddamn PACs who now have complete free reign thanks to Citizens United (and because the majority of our SC are a bunch of Teabag corporat shills) . They control Congress, the supreme court, most of the senate, most of the state houses, almost all the media. . . if they know they can BUY themselves a President now, then we're completely finished. Ourselves, our children, and theirs, and the environment, our entire economy - all of it, everything, everyone, nothing but a host for the corprat parasite to feed off of.

Samuel L. Jackson was right. People need to WAKE. THE. FUCK. UP.
