Wow, there are so many republicans polls that have came out over the last two days. Every time I go to 538 or RCP its ridiculous....they are obviously trying to muddy the averages.

(5,554 posts)If the Pub base realizes that Trump is toast, they might not be as motivated to stand in a long line to vote - costing them more winnable races down ballot.
This is especially important as their core does not seem to be as interested in voting early (something I never understood).

(22,102 posts)looking at polls since (in my case) there are 5-10 polls out every day. I don't pay attention to them, just get on w/ my business and go vote.

(14,698 posts)to make a stolen result seem plausible. Hey, the polls showed us winning, and we won. Don't look at how they won, nope, just look at the polls a justification.

(32,626 posts)usually works. Hopefully...not this time, but the 2016 election polls are constantly stated as the measuring stick to base this election on. We know that Paul Manafort passed Kilimnik private polling data for 4 states, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota. We also know that elections offices were hacked, but of course...no votes were changed...because no one looked. I could scream my bloody head off every time I hear about 2016 and the stats recited in those 4 states. The numbers are inked into history, without a shadow of doubt. If we the people vote, and if we the people have those votes counted, then we the people win. Fuck the polls
During and after the 2016 campaign, Manafort and Kilimnik spoke and met multiple times. The two talked about strategies to defeat Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, according to the report, citing a conversation Kilimnik had with an associate in which he said Manafort had a "clever plan of screwing Clinton." The two also talked about how Trump might win, the report said, noting that Manafort expected Kilimnik to share the information to people in Ukraine and elsewhere.
The report said Kilimnik sought to leverage his relationship with Manafort and use him to influence the Trump administration and the Russian government "to effect a certain political outcome."
In one of two meetings with Kilimnik during his tenure as Trump campaign chairman, "Manafort briefed Kilimnik on the state of the Trump Campaign and Manafort's plan to win the election," the Mueller report concluded. "That briefing encompassed the campaign's messaging and its internal polling data. According to Gates, it also included discussion of 'battleground' states, which Manafort identified as Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota."
