I wonder why they didn't take care of the problems. This kind of behavior is a public safety issue. Why weren't the bridge police on the scene immediately?

By the way, when the state built the new beautiful bridge a few years ago, they changed its name: Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge. It was named for the former 3-term governor who was also the current 3-term governor's father. He was also CNN anchor Chris Cuomo's dad.

One day a few years before he died, I encountered Mario Cuomo on a Manhattan sidewalk. Since I had always voted for him, I greeted him and he couldn't have been more friendly. We chatted for about five minutes and I was able to thank him for his service and get his thoughts on the day's current events. He was quite a gentleman.

Regardless, I still call it the Tappan Zee Bridge!
