Actually, I've lived in the third world, and even in the places I've lived they didn't board up buildings and shops during elections.

BTW, about that new fence at the WH. There are a lot of first things for Joe Biden to do. One of them should be removing the barriers. Sure, the RWNJs will continue to be a threat, but Joe should be very public in acknowledging that he trusts the Secret Service to protect the people's house, and that house should not be behind fortress walls.
