(4,723 posts)I detest being sold at. Rarely do I see anything advertised that I care to buy. I don't watch much TV, but I do watch YouTube videos and some TIkTok videos. Judging by the ads YouTube sends me, they think I am an elderly man. I'm not. TIkTok is a bit better, They send me an ad for men's ponchos. I like ponchos, and am actually slightly tempted by that one, but my rational brain overrules it because I have no need of a poncho. One slightly persuasive ad out of the acres that I am forced to watch.

(37,748 posts)I s'pose that's a good thing as it illustrates just how competitive we've become.
That said, one morning last week I was pining for the consistent tedium of the "ask your doctor to prescribe you this expensive pill you don't really need!!!" ads I've learned to tune out as white noise.
