(47,269 posts)I've never been able to look at him the same way since. This hoping for a republican senate after the past eight years is a new low.

(58,785 posts)Eight years of almost constant obstruction, including keeping Obama from filling hundreds of judicial positions.
Friedman's neither stupid nor going senile, so he's lying about what he secretly wants and why. We see this a lot -- professional intellectuals pushing agendas while masquerading as politically neutral.

(3,131 posts)He shows up right on schedule to let us know he is still an idiot. Hopefully he returns to hibernate with minimal sightings until the next time.

(5,162 posts)Friedman is their employee, after all.
They know we're coming for their irresponsible, undeserved, tax cuts.
A Biden DoJ could put a major number of scofflaws behind bars, too.

(3,635 posts)If after all Friedman has seen he still thinks the GOP has any integrity at all - wow he's clueless or just complicit.
At least the Lincoln Project recognizes the rot in the GOP and opposes them all - not just Trump.

(11,513 posts)He doesnt live in reality. I stopped listening to anything he had to say years ago after he repeatedly discussed the good would come out of the Iraq war.

(46,684 posts)You hack. In case you haven't noticed, there hasn't been a sign of compromise with a Republican president and Republican controlled senate.

(2,845 posts)Spent from summer of 2003 untill sometime in 2007 predicting that "the next 6 months" in the Iraq conflict would be watershed.
At his average rate of learning, he'll need to watch the senate under McConnell for at least another 12 years before he has any idea why progress isn't happening.
I don't know why he is still working at the times. I guess they feel it's in their financial best interest to employ a drooling imbecile to crap out the same stupid column every week: the one where he defends NAFTA based on expected long term global economic benefit. Maybe that column is soothing to a certain segment of center-right boomers who still want to believe it's 1994.
