Stock market rally is here on Election Day as investors continue to price in a Biden win

Stocks traded sharply higher on Election Day, continuing their winning streak from the start of the week.

After opening higher, the rally continued and stocks are looking at their best day in a month. In the early afternoon, the Dow traded nearly 2%, or some 530 points, higher, while the S&P 500 -- Wall Street's broadest measure -- climbed 1.8%. The Nasdaq Composite was up 1.8%.

Last week, all three indexes recorded their worst weeks since March on uncertainty about rising Covid-19 infections, the prospect of government stimulus and the election results.

Betting markets continue to favor former Vice President Joe Biden to win the election, with PredictIt putting his chances at 66% in the early afternoon.

I was tempted to move some retirement $ (what little I have, haha!) into safer havens over the past few months but decided to keep playing the long game. Glad the cooler half of my head prevailed.

People here just love to freak out when the market drops. Some even sold everything back when Trump was first elected, which means they have given up a lot of gains. If anything, buying on drops is a better strategy, if you have cash in hand.

Been trying to tell the worriers this all day. This makes the case for me, the stock market is going up because it thinks Biden will win.

and economic trends and such, are handled in the normal way, instead of the 1/2 a&& mouthing off at the mouth that trump engaged in constantly. This style is not by any means governing. It's simply being a bully, and mouthing off, w/ no power behind it, as he very quickly found out. He'll be gone soon, and I'm for one, will be very very happy.
