Pelosi Calls Amy Coney Barrett an 'Illegitimate Supreme Court Justice'

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday called newly confirmed Justice Amy Coney Barrett “an illegitimate Supreme Court justice.”

“The president is installing an illegitimate Supreme Court justice just one week before the election,” Pelosi said during an Election Day news conference with the chairwoman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Illinois congresswoman Cheri Bustos.

Pelosi claimed that Barrett will vote to dismantle the Affordable Care Act and noted that the judge declined to say whether she thought Medicare was constitutional during her confirmation hearings last month.

The Senate confirmed Barrett to the Supreme Court in a 52-to-48 vote last week, giving conservatives a 6-to-3 majority on the court. Senator Susan Collins of Maine was the only Republican to vote against Barrett’s confirmation.

refused to conduct legitimate "job interviews" for all 3 of the last nominees, allowing them all to refuse to answer many questions, hiding information about them to keep it from being brought out, and even allowing lies under oath in some cases, their confirmations are all illegitimate for that reason alone.

And then there are so many others, like what Pelosi is pointing out.

I recommend repeated impeachments, one after another, over trifles, with the Senate requiring attendance of the impeached, till the message is got across and a resignation tendered. There is no bar to this, it is quite permissible under the Constitution.

and on the premise that if Democrats win a majority in the Senate, that judicial reform will be the work of Congress if Joe wins. I hope she makes it the first order of business. Because nothing else Democrats do will get cooperation unless Republicans know they haven't any recourse with a newly expanded SCOTUS.

It's my hope that Republicans' penchant for political drama will damp down with the knowledge that they AND their owner/donors can't fight the Democratic legislative agenda, but one never knows with those captured corporatist jackals.

There was a headline this AM, suddenly, that 10 Republican Senate seats are in doubt. First time I heard the MSM report it.

Pelosi here is using a term Schumer has used on Twitter for weeks: illegitimate.

I almost feel like the whole structure of our society is closing ranks, and that Donald Trump, and the Republican Senate that failed to convict and remove him, are being set up as

THE LAST TO FIND OUT!

Kick it in high gear folks. This is historic stuff that will strengthen the USA. This is the windup of 40 years of lies sold as greed is good and pass us the money, all the while taking it from working people. We've had all we're gonna take.

Tue Nov 3, 2020, 06:31 PM

Amy, please quote Matthew 25: 31- 46 to the court. Note the Bible says these are the words of Jesus telling his followers - Christians- to take care of the sick, the poor, etc. under punishment of eternal hell. Now please explain how you, as a Christian will use the teachings of your Lord and Savior, when you rule on the ACA? Will you strike down the ACA, and condemn yourself to hell? Will you affirm the ACA and prove you are a true Christian and not one who just likes the name but refuses to do what Jesus commands?
