Interesting read on how GOP tried to cheat in Ohio in 2012 like they did in 2004. This article speculates a lawsuit filed which could have set up a precedent for a manual audit is what prevented Rove form activating the software that would flip votes. But I remember Anonymous claiming they were onto Roves man in the middle planned attack and claimed they shut it down.
How is Rove not in jail?

According to SourceWatch, Spoonamore, a Republican, is a recognized expert in the field of data security and digital network architecture who has worked as a consultant for MasterCard, American Express, Chubb Insurance, Bloomberg, and others.
Spoonamore attested that he found evidence that Rove, in collaboration with IT company owner Mike Connell, had used computer fraud to steal the 2004 election for George W. Bush.
The tabulation system Connell designed allowed for the introduction of a third computer between computer A and computer B, Spoonamore had written.
This centralized collection of all incoming tabulations would make it easy for a single operator, or preprogrammed force balancing computer to change the results in any way desired by the team controlling Computer C.
Ohio was never considered a Joe win, but I wonder if this man in the middle still exists in Ohios electronic voting infrastructure. Dont see why not since no one seems to care enough to give any oversight.

(1,351 posts)Youve got a whistleblower basically saying the election was fraudulent yet nothing comes of it. How do we know something similar isnt happening in other GOP strongholds where they control the election process?

(14,853 posts)... like I figured from various clues around here, but rural counties keep getting worse. Ugh.
I don't buy the cheating ideas for this state. We have too many evangelicals in the rural areas like the rest of this country.

(1,602 posts)Ohio has always been a long shot, and it has become redder over time, not bluer.
My feeling though is that we'll find there is systematic bias that can't be easily explained away in other places. The Republicans were very afraid of paper ballots, partially because they have an audit trail attached to them. I'd personally like to do away with anything but optical scan, verifiable receipt machines. I'm convinced they've been depressing Democratic turnout for a couple of decades now.

(1,351 posts)But I hate that my discounting of Ohio has to do with my resignation that votes are rigged and no one will bother looking into it. Its just a given that the GOP has a lock on Ohio because they control the voting tabulation..and thats depressing as hell. If nothing is done then from here on out we assume Ohio will be red despite the actual vote. Will FL follow the same?

(2,049 posts)It was a rough night for county-wide Dems against tRump voters. Lots of long-time incumbents lost to GOP candidates.
But, all of the levies passed, except like one school district. Not calling shenanigans, but typically GOP turnout equals a bad night for tax issues.
