There is no way in hell. Theyre all conscious of the implications in tarnishing the reputation of their institution. They might do it for someone establishment and if they didnt have to go too far out on a limb like in 2000, but not for Trump and not like this.
Theyre not going to throw away Biden votes to give Trump the keys to the castle. Mark my words now, SCOTUS is going to tell Trump to get fucked.

(25,342 posts)Roberts quite pointedly noted that courts don't determine election rules. That was a barely-veiled message to Trump and his minions.
Also, as you noted, Roberts is concerned about the legacy of "his" court. He's not going to throw it away for Trump, Amy or no Amy.

The ONLY one I see giving Trump a nod is Thomas. But even he might not.

(3,523 posts)I've thought that all along. Rump has made a mockery of the SC and I'm sure Roberts isn't happy about that. You're right, Roberts more than likely doesn't like the way the last two justices were pushed on him.

(115,281 posts)justifying overturning a state's statutory election procedures when the Constitution very clearly says that the state legislatures decide how their states manage their elections and choose electors. Specifically, Art. II, Sec. 1, Clause 2 states that each state shall appoint electors "in such Manner as the Legislature Thereof May Direct." So if a state decides to choose its electors based on a popular vote in which voters can cast ballots by mail which must be counted if received by a date designated by the state legislature, I should think the originalists would be cool with that. Trump might be very disappointed with "his" justices.

(2,785 posts)They might have given him it came down to a couple of thousand votes, but not across multiple states with the margin being much harder than that.
