Do you think a deal should be done with Trump - he encourages a peaceful transition in exchange

for going easy on his crimes?

EDIT

I see a lot of "no" replies.

Specifically, I'm think of the damage Trump can do before he leaves, in particular inciting civil unrest.

Okay, how about if he was told something along the lines of: "These are all the charges you will face. However, if you want us to play nice, you need to do the same." Then, when Trump leaves office, he is still arrested.

he's not going to keep any trumpsters in the Admin, he doesn't need introduction to administrative responsibilities, darn sure don't need introduction to trump's CV19 efforts, etc.

Seriously, trump and his cronies can just leave and Biden will step right in and not skip a beat.

On the other hand. I believe there is a "Law & Order" for every occassion. I seem to recall an episode where McCoy cut a sweet deal with a criminal but the twist was it didn't apply to federal charges. As the crook left the courtroom, the Feds moved in.

With Trump, it could be done in reverse. He cuts a deal with the Feds and as he thinks he's walking away free, New York State troopers move in and drag him off.

He doesn't pay bills. He left thousands of his own supporters miles away from their cars in the cold THREE TIMES because he stiffed the bus companies that were supposed to shuttle them back.

He won't honor a "deal" if he thinks it's remotely unfavorable to him in anyway. So, no deal.

No. He and those around him need to be held accountable. We tried the “time to move on for the healing of the nation” with both Nixon and W. It’s part of how we ended up here. It only emboldens the next wanna-be dictator. Which, if rumors are correct, could be Trump 2024.

Donald Trump does not make deals in good faith, so any deal that would be made with him would sully all hands and would not be adhered to.

No deals. He leaves office on January 20th and he faces whatever legal problems he is in. That is it. We root out all of the horrible people who supported Trump and kick them out of government.

The surest bet of healing is for it to come from his own mouth because it’s the only source his cult will believe.
