POLL: Will Republicans in Congress Work With Biden And Dems On ANYTHING Significant?

POLL: Will Republicans in Congress Work With Biden And Dems On ANYTHING Significant?

I can't believe after 4 years the feckless assed M$M thinks people who worshipped Trump in congress are going to do anything to lift a finger to help America under Biden !!

We keep hearing Republicans can work with Biden, yes they ... can ... but wont because they wouldn't under Obama !!

What makes anyone with knowledge of the last 8 years believe the kGOP in congress has changed?

Trump only gave permission to MAGA's horrid angels but those angles existed BEFORE Trump and Trump isn't going away, he's still going to be a big part of Republican politics going forward.

Trump was big part of Republican politics BEFORE 2016 and he'll be a big part of republicans politics until he's in jail or dead

It might be as simple as finding a way to neutralize McConnell. The intransigent fuck has made his bed, but put someone like Romney in charge, if only behind the scenes, and we can maybe start to (very publicly) reintroduce the concept of civility and cooperation and good faith negotiation. We won’t get anything like our dream list, but we’ll get stuff done.

I can dream, can’t I?

They'll find him involved in Russian money laundering, or at the center of voting machine hacking, or
payoffs/bribes, etc, he's dirty we just need to find it and throw him in jail.

Undoing the damage TRUMP did is going to take a lot.

HOW hard can We The PEOPLE lean on Mitch to get his head out of Trump's rump post election?

I think we need HARD FCC rulings on FAKE news and get actual factual news exonerated and propaganda exposed.

WE have to REMOVE the BS on the airwaves in a way that makes NEWS programs evidently dependable again.

We on DU dig for our own FACTS as well, but there should be a HUGE standard that makes it obvious to even the people who WANT to believe DUMP that their obscene sources are full of hot air and photo-shopped to bits.

THAT AND UNDO CITIZEN'S UNITED. Corporations are not PEOPLE> PEOPLE ARE PEOPLE.

Campaign Finance Reform.

PUSH the facts. Make it illegal to call it "News" and lie. Illegal to the point of being sued OFF the air and losing your money stream.

The rethugs ONLY understand when it impacts their bottom line.

Take away their corporate SLUSH funds.

Make candidates debate on Public TV.

All Political Ads have to be FACT CHECKED before allowed on the air.

Make ALL candidates do like DEMS do and raise money in small increments, like they used to do.

Locally our repug (Marshall) running for Senator simply ran attack ads against Barbara Bollier(D) filled with
stupid allegations any sane person could see through, but around town people told me of all the terrible
things she was going to do to us if she got to Washington, and they were nothing more than Marshall's
attack ads. Nazi Joseph Goebbels said tell a lie often enough and people will believe it is alive and well
in today's repug party. Make them debate in town halls and newspapers. Take TV & radio away from them.

I'm expecting the Republicans to continue some of the concepts that Trump popularized: expanding american manufacturing, opposing free trade, and an adversarial approach to China.

Trump's nationalistic approach was decidedly successful, and was/is popular enough to offset the fact that half his supports don't like him (from a personality perspective). In many key states I see Republicans outperforming Trump down ballot (NC, MI, AZ, ME, and other senate races). The Republican brand is more popular than Trump himself. The next steps for the Pubs is pretty clear; keep the more popular Trump ideas but dump the hate and toxic personality.

The interesting thing in looking at Joe's messaging this time around, we've picked up on some of Trump's non-toxic ideas. I saw plenty of campaign ads about manufacturing covid protective equipment in america. Joe also has been talking about coordinating a global front against China's expansionism and abuses, which is a pretty much a 180 from both his and our party's prior stance of wanting increased relations with China.

I'm hoping that there can be some common ground found, and that the Republicans will want to keep the few ideas that Trump introduced that resonated so well that we're even borrowing them. This gives us a starting point for rebuilding bipartisanism, which in time will help us mellow out out national politics.

They will do everything they can to ruin Biden's presidency. Republicans will not work together with others in a democratic system. Republicans have become the enemies of democracy and it's time for the rest of us to say it out loud and treat republicans as enemies of the USA. We are already at war and it's time for Democrats to wake up to that fact.

Sure, cut deals, but never give them more than we get AND never break even.

We must chip away at their 'my way or the highway' non-partisanship.

They represent seditionists, fascists, authoritarians, those who would behead their opponents.

NO. THEY REMAIN FOREVER UNTRUSTWORTHY BECAUSE THEY ARE BOUGHT BY AND PAL AROUND WITH FASCISTS, CON MEN, THIEVES, MURDERERS AND FOREIGN ENEMIES.
