I am tired of hearing 'the state that could decide the election' or,

words to that effect.
BS! - it is the last ones reporting in to the tally and which will come in to move the electoral vote. that does not mean that state is deciding the election.
I would like to think all states decide the election, which is really the case, although of course, I would far prefer all people decide the election (i.e. damn electoral college!)

they just misspoke. I heard one correct it and said I meant counting votes. I think they have been running their mouth so long they just screw up sometimes.

It may affect public reaction, but that's not my point.

I'm thinking it works like this. I need to submit a report by a deadline, next Friday. It's already done, just need to email it. There are parts you want to change - I'll wait to send it. If I send it Friday morning you'll have some time to mess things up, but generally it's still my report. On the other hand if I hit send as I'm walking out the door next Friday there is no recourse, no fixing errors, no mending fences.

When should I send it?

I think we are on different topics. You are talking about why it is taking a while for results. I am onboard with that. My original post is that i do not like the terminology of saying that a particular state is the one to decide the election, because that is just not true - it is just the one or few that still have results outstanding. they are not the ones determining the election. I just have a problem with the phraseology.

I believed you to be saying that we should get one result, when said result was compiled. Otherwise there will always be a last state to tally for a decision. In response to that I was talking strategy for when and how to manipulate the system.
