Just a reminder that Decision Desk HQ called the race more than 25 hours ago ..

At that time Nate Silver said

Good for them. The outcome has been apparent for a while. No reason other sources shouldn't follow. There's some doubt about the outcome of Georgia and Arizona, still, but Biden doesn't need those states to be elected.

Since then Biden's lead in PA has increased consistently. There is no rational reason every network hasn't already called this thing. I mean Fox even called AZ and that was and still is slightly less certain than PA. Of course calling AZ didn't end the race the way calling PA would.

The only reasons they have are:
1) milking this for ad revenue.
2) they are all cowards and hope another network will blink first and get the brunt of Dumpy ire.

4. I know, right?

We have to find a path to end that stupidity.

We also need a path to end the stupidity of proprietary programming for our voting machines.

I'm sorry. North Carolina's vote is absolutely wrong. Yes, they're waiting until 11/11 to finalize the count, but the whole thing skews totally wrong, if you're looking at it on the ground.

11. Do you have any links to the NC story?

The whole electoral process needs work!

1. Publicly funded elections.
2. Shorter & clearly defined campaign periods.
3. Paper ballots for every voter, every election, & mandatory random audits.
4. Standardization of the voting process. Let the states control the process, but it shouldn't be easier to vote in Colorado than it is in South Carolina.

Do you have other ideas?

In CO, you can opt in to vote by mail for every election and we have early in-person voting, too. You can register to vote at the DMV or online anytime, & you can even register to vote on Election Day & vote. We have drop off boxes throughout the county, not just one. Our ballots are fed through an OCR scanner & tabulated electronically so we get results in a timely manner. And the SOS has an audit process to verify the tabulation of the vote is accurate. Seriously, if we can do it, the whole country can.

12. All of those things would be my wish list for elections.

You're right, of course. If any state can do it right, ALL states can.

7. One candidate has received 4.5 million more votes than the other

and we're still deciding who's going to win the election.

3. You're leaving out that Trump isn't conceding.

If they call it and Trump still doesn't concede where does that leave the transition team? Do they just waltz in there at Trump's refusal? Biden won't be the President elect until he's elected by the electors in Congress.

5. But it's time to rip off the friggin' bandaid.

The RNC just had that ZOOM meeting telling everyone to claim voter fraud. It's just prolonging the idiocy.

9. I think you overestimate the importance of transition team.

Trump had none in 2016 and they pretty much ignored Obama's help. Biden will gather the Obama era people and knows what's up. I don't think Biden expect much help from Trump.

10. They don't need it because they are all veterans.

But that is the signifier of the President elect taking over the White House. Trump isn't going to give it to him until he is literally forced to by the electors deeming him the official President elect and he is required to by law.
