World War 2 history buffs will appreciate this analogy re: President-elect Biden's victory

As of today, the (Democratic/independent/never-Trumper/anti-fascist) Allies defeated the (Trumpist) Nazis

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victory_in_Europe_Day

The act of military surrender was first signed at 02:41 on 7 May in SHAEF HQ at Reims,[2] and a slightly modified document, considered the definitive German Instrument of Surrender, was signed on 8 May 1945 in Karlshorst, Berlin at 21:20 local time.

The German High Command will at once issue orders to all German military, naval and air authorities and to all forces under German control to cease active operations at 23.01 hours Central European time on 8 May 1945...

—?German Instrument of Surrender, Article 2

This is what is left to do:

On 4 May, Admiral Hans-Georg von Friedeburg, representing Dönitz, surrendered all German forces in the Netherlands, Denmark, and northwestern Germany to Field Marshal Bernard Law Montgomery at Lüneburg Heath southeast of Hamburg, signalling the end of World War II in northwestern Europe.

A very imperfect analogy, but now we small d and large D democrats are pursuing the remnants of this fascist authoritarian regime (the Flensburg government). Hopefully sooner than later, we can extinguish all remnants of it, and return to pre-2015 political discourse. I'd prefer pre-1994 political discourse (the effects of Gingrich), but for now, I will settle for pre-2015.

Although, in truth, Denazification didn't work very well.

I appreciate your analogy.
