A plan for the Georgia Senate ground game

Let's flood the state with millions of college kids.

All of them have at least 3-4 weeks off leading up to the election.

Many of them have been cooped up at home or in dorms all semester.

Many of them are actively engaged and motivated.

They are the safest cohort in the COVID environment

They shouldn't be going to visit their grandparents during that time anyway.

We will have more money than we know what to do with so lets leverage a few thousand paid staff into 10's of thousands of adult volunteers bolstered by an army of college kids.

3. We have state and local runoffs on Dec 1 & Senate runoff on Jan 5

Senate Runoff dates:

Deadline to register to vote in senate/federal runoff is Dec 7
Request absentee ballots on Nov 18
Early voting begins on Dec 14
Election Day January 5, 2021

Did not work out so well. The ground game needs to be run by people who know the state and its localities, not by out-of-state college kids who are hardwired to think they know everything.

7. A fuck ton was given to defeat Graham, Collins, etc. The allocation of resources has to be targeted.

Money alone won't get the job done, especially with that 3-way battle against Loeffler, since she was done in with that spoiler Republican candidate. This time, that Doug Collins guy won't be there. Hopefully, the DSCC won't concentrate canvassing in the Red counties and concentrate them more towards the Dem stronghold city areas and the beltway between Columbus & Augusta.

I've seen in the past a lot of effort spent trying to go door-to-door in GOP strongholds with virtually zero results. Direct person-to-person interaction is the most time and resource intensive of the campaign methods. While there needs to be selling, the majority of the labor workforce needs to work the more fertile and receptive communities to drive turnout.

As an example, Union County, GA had around 14K votes and only 12% went to Warnock. No amount of ground campaign will sway areas like that, and sending people to perform ground campaigns there will now probably subject them to threats or worse.
