"We have a new President" my husband said as he opened the door for me to bring in the

groceries. I have never seen him so relaxed and smiling as he helped unpack a week's worth of food. Usually, it's such a thankless chore. But this morning he was just relieved.

He told me that it was announced while I was at the supermarket doing the weekly shopping. It's amazing how fast we both felt so much better. Like a heavy weight lifted off our backs.

But I was exhausted. The shopping trip, me with a hurting arthritic knee, had taken everything out of me.

I took a nap, got up and I feel relaxed and refreshed. Best nap I've had in four long years!

It's amazing.

2. I've been on Facebook and seeing the crowds everywhere in NYC where my son and his family live.

My Facebook peeps are joyful.

it's like life is starting again after a cruel, hard winter, yet it is early November. I don't care. I'm just happy he's over and done with.

But I told hubby as he walked in the house after a beer run. I was crying like a baby.

4. I put a bottle of champagne in the refrigerator (it's non-alcoholic).

Tonight we'll toast the end of a nightmare and the beginning of a hopeful, productive Biden presidency!

5. The entire nation seems to be engaged in a huge collective sigh of relief.

I'm glad you had a good nap. A good sleep can definitely be good medicine.
