I have made it a point to not be snarky with my Republican family/friends/co-workers now.

I sure as hell want to. There are all kinds of easy pickings to do so, I dont really care do you? Fuck your feelings?, shit, there are just so many that it is hard to not do it. So fucking hard.
But,
I am not going to.
Don't for a second think I am taking the high road. I am not. Whenever they give me their stupid ass conspiracy theories or complain about something the Democratic party or President says or does I am just going to tell them they dont have the right to bring that shit to me. You lost that right. You lost that right when you supported a party and president that separated over 500 kids from their parents, wanted peoples votes to stop being counted just to win and did so fucking much more. You lost that right when the country spoke and decided to go the way of morals and kindness instead of power and cruelty. So either talk to me about something else or go away because you dont have that right anymore. Not with me.

It’s history, even it it wasn’t their party who broke it. But I’m pretty it’s off the table. Or at least, it won’t be me who brings it up. It’s sad, but it’s not worth crossing the Maginot Line to try.

...around the “Thanksgiving table,” but we don’t have to worry about that this year, because nobody will be holding big Thanksgiving family gatherings this year anyway.

Also good to hear about trump voters that think Q is insane. I imagine if the thinking was the other way around it could get awkward.

I can’t abide that level of delusion.

I think not being religious is the key. In my experience evangelicals believe in crazy shit from the git-go. Believing in something with no evidence is second nature for them.

Not talking about all Christians. Many are empathetic democrats. Just the ones that believe the earth is 6K years old. And that is maybe 20% of the population.

about how religious people are - like out into the evangelical weeds as opposed to non-believer or mainstream churchgoer. I don’t think I ever really believed, but was brought up attending Lutheran church and Sunday school in the 60’s and a bit into the 70’s. I can’t even imagine the Lutherans I was around then buying in to any of the rwnj conspiracy crap.
