(22,061 posts)As much as I liked some of our other presidential candidates, I don't think they could have pulled off a win like Joe has done.

(68,552 posts)The thing about Joe is he was well known thus the smears didn't work. I can't think of anyone else that would be true for.

(5,111 posts)While I like many of the others, I never thought they would be be viable. Thats why a he did everything in his power to take him down.

This is Joe Biden's moment and with his excellent selection of Kamala Harris we're witnessing history, a turn in the right direction. We had many very good candidates but Biden brought the ability to stop the Trump train, end the wreckage and reset the course.
One of the few times I've been right about a specific candidate. Couldn't be a more important time to get it right.

(21,740 posts)of how the White House and country are SUPPOSED to work. He will hit the ground running and never have to look back (except to prosecute the Trump crime family).
There will be no learning curve to slow things down, only Mitch McConnell, who hopefully Biden will know how to deal with.

(666 posts)They couldnt decide to paint him (them) as too soft on crime/too hard on crime...couldnt pin "defund the police" on them as well as they did it to other candidates. Which really really hurt candidates, even in liberal NYC local races. Biden has resume of supporting police and Harris was a tough prosecutor. Key was also he and other top Dems immediately came out against it. Unfortunately it stuck to other candidates. Was he dementia & sleepy joe/or the guy who was a great debater? Biden also "scrappy" from PA, long relationships rooted in places like MI WI PA & unions...he was a long known commodity. He didnt veer too much during the campaign or succumb to pressures, he stayed consistent...even with his "I beat the socialists" "do I look/sound like a socialist" in the primary comments in his speeches. If we aim for progress and not call for perfection immediately..and get away from the defund the police BS (police reform is they right wording) I believe we can get alot of things done that all of us Democrats would support on many different issues.
