Please humor me, after 200 plus years we have a woman VP Elect and THIS

It might not seem like much but checkout the wording in the first sentence of President Elect’s first sentence. ‘Women and Men’. I’ve spent my entire life hearing Men and Women.

The phrases "Men and women" and "women and men" sound a bit vulgar, just one step above "guys and dolls." But that's just me, and I'm old. I do understand what you're saying, though, and I rejoice along with you!
