Mitt Romney and Susan Collins could put an end to this attempted coup in an afternoon.

Breaking character: Of course Mitt Romney and Susan Collins could put an end to this attempted coup in an afternoon. They tell Mitch they'll caucus with Dems if Mitch doesn't say Trump should concede. And this whole thing ends

Romney would be voted out in 2024 if he caucused with the Democrats. Drunken Irishman Nov 2020 #11

Won't happen. Romney said yesterday that Trump has "every right" to call for recounts. totodeinhere Nov 2020 #8
But what Trump is doing is not calling for recounts exboyfil Nov 2020 #12
If you listen the whole interview with Romney he also said that Trump has to right totodeinhere Nov 2020 #13

Literally, Collins is in for another six years. Nobody will ever vote against Mitt in Utah that wouldn't already.

Utahns will never support a Democrat, or an independent who caucuses with the Democrats, for senate. Romney would only do it if he for sure was not running for reelection, which all signs point to him running anyway.

But if Romney left the GOP, whoever ran as a Republican in 2024 would likely win.

And I'm sure Romney knows this.

how party affiliation works. Or to what extent Romney and Collins have no real moral center.

I remember back in the early 2000s when people here kept on gooing and gahing over John McCain, how he was really somehow one of us. He never was. He did finally show some backbone to keep the ACA alive, but most of his career is one of deceit and lies.
