Words matter. Trump isn't 'failing to concede'
He's consolidating power and intends to subvert the vote and install his dictatorship by fiat.
People spend too much time thinking about whether he'll be successful or not. It is high time for Trump to stand before us and declare his intentions. I don't want to wait until January to deal with a reckless and eminently dangerous Trump. Let the normal processes proceed as Joe transitions to his presidency. But Trump is a one-man wrecking crew right now, and it would be smart to stop him now before he gains any momentum.

1. No, he's refusing to concede.
"People spend too much time thinking about whether he'll be successful or not. "
He will fail. If everyone understood this, it would save everyone a lot of time. And thousands of posts on DU. |

2. It's not a one-dimensional question. You assure only an outcome.
I'm concerned about the build-up. There is absolutely no way to gauge how he intends to spend the next 70 days. It could get contentious.

3. You seem to be saying Trump won't succeed so it doesn't matter what he does in the mean time.
Not sure I am that optimistic.

4. It's not that he will fail
It's that he... and the Proud Boys and Bugaloo Bois will try. Along with the DOJ and US Military.

5. Naw.
The military isn’t going to play. It’s not what they do. They serve this country, not the president.
The Proud Boys and the Bugaloo Bois are also not a large scale threat. They lack the discipline, training, and strategic capability to accomplish more than the occasional tiki torch march. They would have to unite somehow, and they are far too full of themselves to subject themselves to any kind of command structure. I’m not saying things won’t get ridiculous; they already are. And I’m not saying that there won’t be some isolated violent skirmishes. But in the end, they will get tired and go home. They always do. |
