The Electoral College Play
How low will they go?
https://politicalwire.com/2020/11/11/the-electoral-college-play/ The Electoral College Play November 11, 2020 at 7:48 am EST By Taegan Goddard “As the weaknesses of President Trump’s legal cases to overturn Joe Biden’s win become clearer, Republicans are talking more about the Electoral College — hinting at an extreme last-chance way for Trump to cling to power,” Axios reports.
“In this long-shot scenario, Trump and his team could try to block secretaries of state in contested states from certifying results. That could allow legislatures in those states to try to appoint new electors who favor Trump over Biden.” Said one lawyer: “It’s basically hijacking the democracy. They’ve got nothing else; you’d be trying to deny Joe Biden 270.”

1. Republicans were elected also
If they block the certification of votes, they block Republicans in states that voted for Biden.

2. Legislators.Don't.Choose.Electors
How many times does this have to be said?
They're chosen by the respective political parties. |

5. I'm not saying you're wrong, but if you're right and everyone knows
that you're right, how come so many legal experts and think tanks that are war-gaming this election are so worried about this?

6. I don't think most legal experts are worried
You have to remember that many of the ones you see in the media have an interest in staying in the media, so they send up these trial balloons.
For example, I've stated a simple fact several times, and others have stated it better than me-electors are not chosen by legislators, PERIOD. Someone here-who writes better than I-reprinted that from the US Constitution itself. The legislatures have nothing to do with it. Yet, some of these "legal experts" seem to keep forgetting that simple fact. Why is that, do you think? |

3. Gellman did everyone such a disservice
by writing that far-fetched article in The Atlantic. Ron Brownstein, one of the editors, should be embarrassed he allowed it to be published.

4. Time to suit up, people, as my passionate protester neice would say.
Speaking of protective gear, protest signs, solidarity, and plans Time to put our bodies on the line. Not the bravest person myself, physically, but what's the alternative?
