Jeff Bezos needs to buy Trump's debt

And fuck up his life. $400 million is small change for a guy with $180 billion. He could even afford to lose it all and it would probably benefit him with his taxes.
But the extent he could screw with Trump would be priceless.

That would just let deutche bank and a lot of foreign banks off the hook. Let them eat the debt. they will never be repaid, and shouldn't have ever made the loans to begin with.

Just make it impossible for them to forgive the debt. The gov't should double it and hold him liable

I am not sure what the government could do if a private bank offers debt forgiveness other than ensure that the forgiveness is treated as income and taxed accordingly (or course I suspect the rich have a way of getting out of this trap that us little people experience).

for the people who hold the debt. They are just laundering it for someone else. Probably from Russia.

That's the theory at least.

and there's no reason in the world to help them, or Deutsche Bank, out of their mess. Let them own that debt, every huge, stinking bit of it.

Suppose Bezos offers to buy Trump's debt at 2 to 1. He'll pay $800 million for the $400 million debt, say. Wouldn't any legitimate creditor jump at that? If no one takes Bezos up on it, it shows the "creditors" like owning a piece of Trump more than the money.

It's throwing away money. Trump will never be able to repay that debt.

Can't he just declare bankruptcy again? It should work if Bezos owns the debt. Not so much if Russian mobsters own it. Good thing for Trump he has lifetime Secret Service protection.

The premium offer would be to get the creditors to come out of hiding (or to stay hidden despite an obvious profit). I'm assuming Bezos would go into it assuming he would lose the entire investment in this scenario, to Trump's likely bankruptcy for example. Bezos would just be doing it as a patriotic service to his country.

He could say, "I offered $800 million for Trump's $400 million debt, and no one took me up on it. I wonder who these people are that would rather have Trump in their debt than doubling their money."
