How or why it got to Wisconsin can only be guessed at, but there is a population there holding on, or slightly increasing, along the Michigan shoreline of SE part of the state. Great Tit is native and most concentrated in Europe but has subspecies on into Central Asia.

It is presumed Polish, and other European, immigrants/visitors were coming in recent years had them as cage birds. Then once in the USA the birds were released, or escaped, in Milwaukee and Chicago.
