once again the fascist party greats a democratic administration with made-up charges of illegitimacy

just as birtherism greeted obama, falsely trying to pin some cloud of illegitimacy to his historic presidency, republicans greet the new biden/harris administration with manufactured accusations of... something something election irregularities.

whatever we may think about donnie's psychoses and coup efforts, the fact that nearly all republicans are going along with this ridiculous charade means that are adamant about not changing or compromising one iota. well, maybe they'll change to be even more extreme, but they're not even going to consider moving toward the middle or moderating their tone.

insisting that they won, insisting that it's the counting that's flawed, not their candidate or their message or their policies, means that they will engage in *zero* introspection and they will not be a cooperative opposition party.

as if we couldn't have guessed, but point is, they're not even going to pretend.

we figured they would obstruct biden from his first day in office, but they've always started trying to sabotage his administration.

biden already offered to work with republicans and they have slapped down that offer and stomped on it right in front of him.

we should not offer them a second chance.

we can laugh and maybe not care too much about donnie's behavior on his way out, but we very much should care about the behavior of republicans who will still be on the hill come january. if they are not able to demonstrate even a basic, minimal amount of respect for the new president and the decision of over 77 million voters, then they should be summarily ignored.
