Tell me she did not grift off the value of that incredible AlAnon book.

Maybe someone should let her know. Whomever named her PAC should really have inforned her, or at least done some research.

This is a bad look..gotta say.

5. I was thinking about starting a PAC. I'll call it "Profiles in Courage"... catchy, huh?

3. Both the book and AOC are likely referencing the same poem - the serenity prayer

God, give me grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.

Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.

Amen.

That prayer was written by Reinhold Niebuhr. Note that the second part, far less known, is not as universal or as compelling.

It was adopted by many self help groups. I would suggest that many of the self help groups seem to concentrate more on the first half, accepting what you can not change. If AOC is referencing this, she is emphasizing the second half.

The wikipedia page is interesting - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serenity_Prayer

Not buying it.
🙄

I could start a political fundraising PAC called "Thou Shalt Not Steal".
Or any of the righteous Ten Commandments or Proverbs. But that wouldn't necessarily make it a saintly PAC.

Sure. OK.

I'm assuming AOC wan't aware of the connection when someone named the PAC in her name.
