Pelosi calls McConnell a 'yes man' and says his power will diminish come the Biden administration

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Friday said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell will have less power in Congress once President-elect Joe Biden takes office.

Speaking to reporters during her weekly news conference, Pelosi called McConnell a "yes man" who she claimed showed up in her office often saying, "I'm not doing anything Donald Trump doesn't want."

"So to me, that was like an abdication of your first branch of government responsibility," Pelosi said about McConnell's remarks. "You're just going to do whatever the president wants? No. This is a separation of power. Something very very important. The genius of our Constitution," Pelosi said.

The lawmaker, a California Democrat, also said McConnell's power in Congress is short-lived. Once Biden is inaugurated as president in January, McConnell's influence will diminish.

"May I remind you that we have a president of the United States, we have a president of the United States. That is so very important. And whether you're in the minority or majority, if the president is of your party, you have more power," she said.

Is the one running the country. For all intents and purposes he determines what does or doesn't get even voted on much less get passed..Somehow I really don't think that was supposed to work like this.

and is extremely powerful. I don't know how to change that, as that was not the intent of the Constitution.

must be brought to the floor of the Senate, for a vote. That's a large part of the problem, McConnell by not even bringing it to the floor, means that there's no accountability. Of course he could then block it in committee, but maybe there's something one can do there too. Obviously this is in a post McConnell world.

Biden could appoint GOP Senators to favored posts. You know, in states that have Democrats for governors.

McTurtle and his minions will raise a stink if a senator gets called by Biden. I just thought of another thing, the Senate has to confirm appointees, just as with SCOTUS so that might not work.

Make the post worthless but enjoyable, perhaps embassador to Tahiti or Monaco. The Senate's ability to "advise and consent" needs to be tested by the new administration.

a position in the Biden administration if it meant Democrats would gain a majority. Biden has options, this is just silly.

He’ll bitch like a republican whiner and obstruct anything he wants based on nothing. Republicans are scum and need to be politically treated as such. Hey, America. You want things to “get done”? Stop electing Republicans. Not moderate ones. All of them.

Lol, yea, but McConnell’s objective is Republican framing for anything that’s not blatant obstruction. I’ve seen nothing to make me believe he won’t continue doing that. Where’s the diminishing power?
