General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsWhat would you do if you were in Joe Biden's shoes?
Would you take Trump to Court? For what reason?
Would you just continue to fill your Cabinet and ignore the "loser"?
Would you trust states like Georgia and Arizona to make the right decisions if pressured by the Trump campaign? (Of course, it would take more than those two states to change the electoral vote winner)
Would you just continue to act presidential and concentrate on the Covid-19?
What would you do different from what Biden is doing at the present time?

(115,587 posts)His current strategy of acting presidential, concentrating on the pandemic and going ahead with planning his transition while ignoring Trump almost completely, is perfect.

(17,467 posts)Biden is acting like the next President of the United States. He is keeping the high road and letting the Trump ship smash itself on the rocks of the law. I am happy if he carries on like he is going.

(47,260 posts)to take anyone to court. That would be in the hands of the Justice Department, which is as it should be.
So far, it appears that he is doing everything the way he should. There are a lot of pundits and politicians offering all kinds of unsolicited advice, but he knows what he is doing and if he needs any informed advice, he will most certainly ask for it. He's been in government a long time, there is very little he doesn't know.

(43,049 posts)actually accomplish anything we need accomplished.
We have to take a good look at underlying economic problems, international "stuff' that has been broken, morale abyss in the civil service ranks, honest looks at future of employment, rational tax policy, environmental responsibility, and so many other things. Won't be much time to go after Trump while fixing what he broke.
But, letting others go after him should be an easy call.

(19,264 posts)If when states begin certifying Biden as the winner the GSA lady is still blocking the transition I might sue over that (and only that). That would only be if it actually was an impediment to the transition.
Let Trump flail around like a loser. Nothing he has done has changed anything.

(1,789 posts)As time goes by and the national security implications grow more dire by the minute, he may need to speak directly to it and press the issue with rhetoric first, legal action if all else fails.

(18,536 posts)trying to transition while the incumbent does everything he can to disrupt and dismember the government while ignoring an out-of-control pandemic . . . and encouraging his cult to "stop the steal" . . . if Joe gets through this and still manages to set up a new administration and address the mess Trump is leaving, he'll be a miracle worker . . .

(524 posts)The scorecard is 1-24 right now and the 1 was reversed on appeal yesterday. The more election fraud lawsuits Trump loses the more legitimacy I gain as President-Elect and the more of a sore loser Trump becomes to normal people who aren't in the MAGA-cult.

(22,065 posts)him in and he'll (I guarantee you this) have the best minds advising him on what to do.
And I suspect Mr. Biden can do multiple tasks/things at a time, it's his decision making abilities that will come to bear fruit vs. teh inept abilities that will stand out in clear contrast to that of trump's.
Regardless of what the feds do, the state(s) will do whatever they need to do. I suspect trump will ignore state summons, I don't know about the federal summons ...

(146,254 posts)I'm sure he'll be just fine without my input, really.
On January 20, he will be the POTUS. Until then, he's planning and deciding on his cabinet and key staff members. I'll just leave him to use his best judgment in those areas, I think.
