Welcome to the Matriarchy: The Manosphere Is Freaking Out Over a Kamala Harris Presidency
A storyline is gaining traction in the manosphere, one that seems likely to explode once Biden is sworn in: that Democrats are calculatedly sneaking in our first woman president. The theory holds that either Biden will die and Harris will take over power, or she will be his puppet master from behind the scenes. It is all part of a paranoid fantasy about gynocentric pinkout of femoid political control, which will usher in matriarchy and feminist control.
This anti-feminist conspiracy theory is only buoyed by the baseless claims of mail-in voter fraud that currently dominate the manosphere. This loose network of anti-feminist online communities, known for its divisive fractures, is now overwhelmingly united in the false claim of a stolen election. Of course, its the same plotline seeded many months ago by President Donald Trump, one thats perfectly tailored for the manospheres conspiratorial, disenfranchised mindseta world where mainstream illusions are punctured, turning the oppressed into oppressors, losers into winners. Even those who consider themselves apoliticalbecause all politicians are manginas, because real men make their own reality, because a new POTUS shouldnt hurt your chances of getting laid, broare now railing against the legitimacy of a Biden presidency.
Here, in the pairing of these two conspiracy theories, is the alternate reality in which the manosphere will be living for the next four years: a stolen election that brings men under a womans rule. Four years ago, the Red Pill forum, and the broader manosphere, identified the presidential runoff between Trump and Hillary Clinton as a war on men and celebrated the former candidate as an alpha male who would fight for mens political fortune, as scholars have put it. Now, as Trump contests the election results, a more extreme version of that narrative is taking hold, one in which the war on men has been fought and unfairly won. Its probable that a Biden/Harris administration will only fuel this conviction.
SNIP --------
Others spent last week questioning womens right to vote. Anthony Dream Johnson, an antagonist of Tomassi, a vocal Trump supporter, and the self-described president of the manosphere, RTed a tweet suggesting that women voting goes against Gods ordained order of men being the leaders and has only caused chaos in our country. (Previously, Johnson has suggested that all women should vote how their husbands tell them.)
Yeah, tell me again why I'm supposed to understand these folks? Trump supporters are fueled by hate, one way or the other.

(15,358 posts)She's convinced that somehow during his presidency, Kamala will definitely take over. They're either going to Amendment 25th him, or he will die mysteriously.
I tried to get her to make a $100 bet on it - even for charity. She could choose any one she wanted, including anti-abortion ones for me to donate to if she were right, and if I were, her money would go to a ferret rescue, but no go. She doesn't bet for "religious" reasons.

(82,849 posts)But if she doesn't want to bet for "religious" reasons, then say, "Okay, write it down. You're saying Kamala Harris will become president because of Joe Biden's removal from office or sudden death. When is that going to happen? By February 1, 2021? June 1? January 1, 2022? Name a date, and initial the paper. I'll hold it until the date you say, and we'll see how right you are."
If she turtles on that, suggest she fails to have the courage of her convictions, and should perhaps avail herself of the opportunity to shut up more. (You can probably say that more diplomatically than I did.)

(118,006 posts)racism. They figure they can get men who want to go back to when they were kings and their wives had little say. Ties the real dangerous masogynists + the uneducated + the base. That is the republican coalition now and we should say it every time we talk of their coalition.

(9,589 posts)I think Kamala Harris is a very capable person and the USA would be very lucky to have her as president if something should happen to Biden. It si crazy how much hate these GOP men have of women.

(5,267 posts)They only bash Democratic women while accepting Republican women in power.
The hypocrites are able to ignore their misogyny and their patriarchal tendencies to support Republican women as long as those women go along with their views.

(2,336 posts)First a black man! The horror but now a black woman? It just cannot get any worse, so they vote no thanks. Simple. It's not so much color prejudice as gender. Women are still the kryptonite.
