Biden to Republicans: "I will work with you. I understand a lot of your reluctance... "

From HuffPost:

Asked Monday what his message was to GOP officials who have not accepted his win, the former vice president said he understood their position and suggested he wouldn’t hold it against them when he takes office next year.

“I will work with you. I understand a lot of your reluctance because of the way the president operates,” Biden said at a news conference in Delaware after a meeting with top economic and labor leaders.

IOW, "I know he's a bully and you're afraid of him."

That way I could appreciate his grace the way I'd like to.

Right now I find myself wishing he'd said something with the words 'traitorous' and 'sedition' featured prominently.

I've become VEEERY un-dude, esp. in the past 9 days.

All the more reason to get that Moscow Mitch not to be the Majority Leader anymore. McConnell is a fucking snake.

I don't trust the repigs not at all. They have shown us their treacherous ways.

Given how they treated Obama.

No one wants to admit it, but our country has cancer. Ask any doctor just how well sitting back and expecting the cancer to go away by itself works out.

Remember that feeling for the first two years of the Obama Administration as we sat and watched Obama relentlessly try to kick the GOP's Lucy football?

It's going to be that all over again, with the added bonus of a (probable) McConnell-controlled Senate.

This Democratic idea that preemptive surrender is the best way to open negotiations with a hostile, irrational enemy is outright pathological.

Joe doesn't know the current GOP. Some of it is Trump, but some of their behavior is donor controlled.

Biden's first 2 years will be like Obama's last 2, obstruction of legislation and appointments by McConnell.

The ensuing 2 years will likely see Dems lose the House which will result in a similarity to Obama's middle years where the only deals made are to end government shutdowns.

I hope I am wrong.

He can promise them, quite sincerely, that he won't seek charges against Trump and his enablers in any way, then turn the whole ball of wax over to SDNY. Any repukes have a problem with that, Joe can just say "It's a state matter. The Federal government is not getting involved."

That's the kind of thing the GOP claims to love, so they should shut up about it...
