My nephew has covid. Has been in ICU since Nov 6 -was given Remdesivir. I looked at his FB UGH

Clear up to Nov 3 he posted several "hoax" posts and memes talking about how covid is nothing but fear mongering and many other things including this horrid article about the very drug that may have saved his life.

I wonder if he will think differently if he gets out of the hospital? Also-guess what? He doesn't have insurance so if /when he gets out he will be hugely in debt.

From the funeral, 8 of our family members tested positive.

I am so thankful I did not go to the house after my sisters grave side service. I just couldn't be around everyone so hubs and I came home. Most definitely the best move.

Cult cult cult. The Chosen One says it is a hoax, so they can't have it. I guess for some people stupidity lasts till the end. (I'm obviously sorry for anyone who loses a friend or relative.) A few people pleaded with others to not be "as stupid as I was" before they died of COVID, but their voices were not heard by the cult.

My advice is don't hold your breath.

My sister is a lprn and she sees people every day that survive and claim covid was nothing. The ones who die don't have an opinion. She is tired and ready to quit. Half the patients she treats did not take even basic precautions and claim it was only the flu. The work is not defeating my beloved sister, but the ignorance and denial is. She did not survive our horrific childhood to be brought down by idiots. I tell her everyday to cut her losses and offer her services a bit further north. But she loves these people. I do too. I can only hope that they come to their senses after Trump is gone. Be a real shame if they don't calm down. I hate the notion of fighting my friends and family. But I have fought better men for less.

I do not care a bit about them. I am about to lose my only insur (the ACA...without it I WILL DIE...not by choice like these selfish assholes). I have zero shits to give anyone born with a brain but are too stupid to use it and are too selfish to think of others and their needs if they are at risk. Stupid, selfish people who claim they can feel freedom by dying...good riddance! You are free to die anywhere you wish for "freedom". Moron! I have worn a mask 100% of the time since MARCH!!! What have these losers done for those of us who are realistically facing this pandemic? Fuck anyone who does not wear a mask! Really, fuck them!!! Period.

Keep doing it. Today my state has shut down again the same way it did the first time. Only essential workers allowed out in the world. I’m in Santa Fe, New Mexico and we’ve only had 24 deaths and less than 4,000 cases. I feel very lucky to live here.

Stay safe. I'm isolating at home this thanksgiving. I have been isolating the last seven months due to a preexisting condition. I saw a video of a covid patient dying while on a ventilator in March and that was all I needed to see to convince me that covid was a killer for people like me.

how old is he?

Only asking because many of the deniers also claim it's a disease that only affects the elderly.

Again, I apologize if that question is too personal, but being as he's your nephew suggests he relatively young.

I think it important that to point out that this disease can be critical for more than just the elderly.

Once again, I apologize if my question seems insensitive. My intent is only to emphasize that this disease can deeply effect anybody.

Prayers for your nephew's recovery.

He was saved by Remdesivir, too. It's very hard to have a conversation with him right now.

Sending some hugs your way!
