I have listened to SiriusXM radio (POTUS channel), surfed Twitter, and watched CNN (and just now Cuomos show)....and the consensus seems to be that the Dems have no chance or at least are the underdogs....didnt Biden just win the State and Stacey Abrams is a great organizer...I would think that we had a good chance and that momentum is with us

Without her, probably not. However, with her, the sky's the limit in GA.

(5,294 posts)With a good chance to pull an upset. Just because Joe narrowly won there doesn't mean it's automatically a blue state now. We can win, but a lot of things have to fall in place.

(4,167 posts)The black vote in Columbus, Atlanta, Macon, Augusta, and Savannah....just like he won other states because of Detroit, Milwaukee, and Philadelphia....

(5,056 posts)but it is very true that they have to be considered the underdog. Will the suburban Republican
voters who wanted Trump gone, come out for Dems in a recount election? Will urban voters
who traditionally do not vote in special elections come out in early January to vote?
Will Republicans come out to vote to keep the Senate Republican? They will most likely be
very motivated especially if Trump campaigns in Georgia pitching they should do it to vindicate
him?
It will be touch and go and all depends on the new registrations and turnout on both sides.

(31,261 posts)process aggressively. I dont believe that we were aggressive enough leading up to the November vote. Down ballot candidates seemed content with media and tv buys, while republicans like Collins cris-crossed their states meeting local people and also knocking on doors. I believe there is a good point between being foolish (COVID19 deniers) and totally isolating oneself to ones home. In the last couple months before the vote, Joe seemed to have hit a sweet spot using masking and intelligent engagement of voters, I believe that was what put him over the top, unfortunately, our down ballot candidates seemed to have relied on the pile of money that we donated and focused on media buys instead of safely traveling around their state or district and getting the valuable local press write ups.

(3,400 posts)Georgians MUST apply for absentee ballots for EACH election. Help by sending reminders to Democrats urging them to apply.

DON'T WAIT!
WE CAN STILL FLIP THE SENATE!

(54,770 posts)think Dems are favorites without a record setting turnout for a runoff. There are still a lot of white wing rubes in GA.

(4,673 posts)Trump didnt they? I thought vote-splitting was an indicator that this is an uphill fight for us.
Hopefully the cult wont be as motivated to show up, unless theyre whipped into a frenzy.
