A childhood friend of Ivanka Trump's wrote a tell-all essay in an effort to stop her from reentering
elite society after Trump leaves office
Lysandra Ohrstrom, Ivanka Trump's childhood friend, wrote a tell-all essay for Vanity Fair, published Tuesday, that she said she hoped would prevent Trump from being able to reclaim her old social life after her father's presidency.
Ohrstrom said that she met Trump in the seventh grade at their all-girls school in New York and that they stayed close for more than a decade, becoming "more sisters than best friends."
Ohrstrom was the maid of honor at Trump's wedding to Jared Kushner in 2009.
But Ohrstrom said their different stances on social issues led to them grow apart. She said that many in her circle now have a similar distaste for Trump but have been reluctant to say so in public.
