I dont think even we here at DU understand

How repugnant and dangerous it is, what Trump has been doing.

Not even Bush wouldve gone down this road.

This would have to be the worst thing a President has done.

I still cant get my head around it.

What a horrible Human being Trump is, to try and take away democracy.

He thinks the Press is bad, the press have to take off the gloves and I mean
go full throttle on him and his enablers.

Not just call him out, but start calling for a charge of Treason to be laid.

3. No, there's always Buchanan.

The President right before the Civil War, James Buchanan. US Grant wrote that Buchanan and his fellow traitors had secretly moved a lot of military equipment to various strategic locations throughout the South, in preparation for the Civil War they were conspiring to start.

He would have a Civil War if it was possible. Only more modern prudence could prevent it.

Even worse than Buchanan. We’re only saved by Trump’s incompetence. Imagine Trump’s evil with brains.

Trump is a terrorist. He has incited violence before, but what he is doing now is setting the stage for terrorist attacks against the legitimate Biden administration.

I am also in fear for the SOS's and other election officials. They don't have the kind of protection given the President Elect and his team.

7. Shrub *did* go down this road

He stopped the proper process of counting and recounting legal votes by getting a corrupt Supreme Court to substitute their partisan desired outcome over the will of the nation's voters.

Shrub was absolutely willing to subvert democracy for the result he wanted.

The *only* difference is that a single corrupt court decision in a single very close state is something he knew he could get away with, and no doubt even he knew he wouldn't have been able to get away with *three* corrupt decisions in *three* states that were only kinda close.

8. Imagine losing game 7 of the NBA finals by 30 points...

And then as the commissioner is presenting the trophy, the losing team suddenly is convinced that they won just because. They'd get laughed at and thrown out of the stadium. Why can't that happen here?

11. PLEASE . . . I implore you and others to actually take the time to look up "treason"
Fri Nov 20, 2020, 01:40 AM

NOT as a dictionary definition, as actual law.

We do not prosecute people with Merriam-Webster. We have legal definitions for crimes. We can't charge people based on what we feel they should be charged with because it seems like they should.

There is a decent, if incomplete discussion of it here: https://constitutioncenter.org/interactive-constitution/interpretation/article-iii/clauses/39

Another discussion stating the necessity of being in a declared war with the enemy in order for the charge to be applicable: https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/americans-have-forgotten-what-treason-actually-means-how-it-can-ncna848651

Trump will not stop.

He must be made to stop by criminal charges.

18. Trump has been insane for many years.

Locking him up will serve little good, even though it would be appropriate and establish some sort of perception of judicial balance.

The real culprit in this evil drama, are the people who enabled and supported Trump.

Trump by himself is inept and capable of little, other that screaming insanity on Twitter. Your mad grandpa shouting obscenities at clouds, as it were.

No, it's the enablers who should be pursued, exposed and dealt with in a court of law.

As for the Media - few have gone really hard on Trump for fear of alienating a large part of their audience.

When did mainstream media last call Trump insane, evil, disrespectful of the Constitution and a danger to Democracy, US style?

Currently Trump is chasing wild geese in terms of changing the election results as a distraction from not allowing the Biden team to hit the ground running. People will die because of this.

The mainstream media? Crickets!
