‘You gifted yourself a private jet on the public dime’

Amid record surges of coronavirus across the country, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called for a new round of stimulus checks to keep people afloat during another round of potential stay-at-home orders. “To get the virus under control, we need to pay people to stay home,” AOC tweeted this Thursday.

Georgia Republican Senator Kelly Loeffler took a shot at AOC’s tweet, saying that she’d do everything to stop the proposal.

“AOC wants to lock down our economy, lock the American people in their homes, and put the government in charge of every single part of our lives,” Loeffler tweeted, adding, “It’s not going to happen on my watch.”

That’s when AOC fired back, accusing Loeffler of not having a leg to stand on when it comes to using taxpayer dollars.

“@KLoeffler disclosures show you seem to have gifted yourself private jet on public dime & exploited corrupt tax loopholes to do it,” AOC tweeted in response to Loeffler. “If you’re happy helping yourself to public funds, maybe take a seat before arguing against stimulus checks to help everyday people in a pandemic.”

Every Democratic office holder should be all over this sort of baloney from the Republicans. If nothing else, the Republicans have proven that public excoriation is a useful political tool. Shining a public light on their essential nastiness should be de rigueur for ALL Democrats.

and I'm glad somebody finally is. I love Joe and I have high hopes for Kamala, but I'm tired of being polite and reasonable to awful people. They don't deserve it and neither does my anxiety level. Sometimes I simply want someone to say the truth right out in front of god and everybody.
