Efforts to derail Michigan election results an abuse of office

Bob Bauer, an attorney with the campaign who also served as White House counsel under former President Barack Obama, specifically highlighted Trump's Friday afternoon meeting with House Speaker Lee Chatfield and Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey as the president's latest bid to undermine the results of the election.

"It's an abuse of office. It's an open attempt to intimidate election officials. It's absolutely appalling," Bauer said.

"On the one hand, this is really very harmful to the democratic process and it actually troubles the people a great deal. On the other hand, it is doomed to failure. There is nothing that I can imagine that is more beneath the president of the United States than to be haranguing officials...to try to at least give people the impression that there is a possibility that he will still win the election" ...
