The immorality is a feature not a bug

The utter lack of empathy or compassion is written all over his oily appearance - bur Americans voted these fuckers back in, in a bewildering display of actively voting against your own best interests. I am we know that there are people who embrace the immorality and poison of the GOP because of personal gain, but the rest of them, with 250k dead, their delusion is complete. they voted for a death cult and all that entails.

of harming, even killing, Americans.

If your so-called "policies" deny people health care or proper nutrition or shelter then you're killing people. If your ideology means people do without the necessary means of survival, then your ideology kills - no matter how slow - you are still responsible because you have the power to help people but elect not to do so.

Why did they choose to vote for this man again? No normal person with the ability to think could have voted for this leach, so how do Democrats wake these people up?

Part of Biden's administration goal must be to educate people, to talk to them in simple terms so that they understand they are being conned by people like McConnell.

There must be a push to fix education in this country, to promote the arts, introduce music in all schools, promote reading, etc.

when it comes to Senators, that often the situation is people voting for “the devil they know” rather than an unknown person. No, it doesn’t make sense but that’s my reading of things.

This includes every member of their constituency. Their party cannot sink into the cesspool any further. Their leadership is solely dependent racists and outright ignoramuses for it survival. Many wonder how over such a large portion of the nation's citizens can be so delusional. They only a have to look how demagogues can easily prey on their prejudices just as Hitler did in his rise to power in scapegoating the Jews. The citizens have been warned by numerous respected citizens that entire party is in the grip of Republican leaders who are using the same fascist tactics that resulted in Germany's capitulation to an absolute madman.

Rush, for all his nastiness and venom, could teach a masters class in media and marketing.

Mark Levin is a seditious fucking goblin, but hes read all the right books, ya know.

Alex Jones is truly delusional. But he rages against the machine in such a way as to convince his peeps that hes correct and theres no difference between Stalin and Fascisim and Elected Democrats.

We have to shut down hate radio.
We need to call our reps, and push them to introduce a standards in news act. No more for-profit 'news'. All the ads you want, but the production-plus profit has to be donated to a state university journalism school. IF THIS IS NOT DONE, the following applies:

You MUST call it entertainment, state before and after each commercial break that its NOT NEWS, that it hasnt been fact-checked, and that it exists for entertainment purposes ONLY, and may as well be considered fiction.

3 strikes you're OUT.

Strike 1: you're off the air for a month and you pay a fine not less than a five hundred thousand dollars.
Strike 2. You're off the air for 6 months and the fine is a million bucks.
Strike 3 and the FCC pulls your licence, and you're banned from public airwaves for 10 years. The WHOLE PRODUCTION CREW.

Because those are OUR AIRWAVES, AND YOU JUST RENT THEM.
And you're not going to be allowed to use them to whisper fascist poison into the ears of the idiots anymore.

Rush and Levin and Tucker and Dobbs would be off the air in 6 weeks.

RANT OFF.

... not a historic scholar, but things eroded beyond the pale with Reagan being allowed to escape with the Iran-Contra: although Nixon was a piece of work; he at least understood the entire picture and we can thank him for the EPA. Newt found the bits of foul material and tossed it into the well of public discourse, and once Citizens United came -- well -- game over. (hmm, poor choice of words I guess because government shouldn't be a game)

Republicans are immoral and unethical, are dishonest and corrupt, are lacking in empathy, integrity, and logical reasoning skills, have no regard for fairness, justice, and democracy, have no regard for the health, safety, and welfare of others, and are willing to engage in any manner of corrupt activity to get their way.

Simply put, they are dedicated fascists. Nazis waiting to happen, and Trump has given them his blessing to happen.

If Trump told them to go out in the street and the fields and wantonly slaughter everyone who did not support Trump, many Republicans would do so, in an orgy of hate and insane blood lust that would make Hitler smile from his nest in hell.

The fascists must be voted out of any and all power, and must be quarantined from power, by democratic exercise, wherever and whenever possible.

Trump is a disease, like Covid 19, that has infected the United States, and we are the democratic vaccine who must get this deadly virus of fascism under control.

16. Yes. A feature developed over decades by pernicious behind-scenes actors.

As Charles Koch now puts it, "Boy, did we screw up." They wanted to turn the entire nation more conservative and libertarian, and filled our institutions with the kind of conservative go-alongers who could be bought and controlled.

McConnell, like Trump, is probably a sociopath. Diagnosable. They're hardly uncommon and most don't run around slashing with knives. Most of the high-level RW pols government has been stacked with, though, act just like textbook authoritarian followers. They obey even more scarily ruthless and amoral leader types like McConnell and Trump, , though with power they're very capable of stomping down, like Pence and Barr.

Btw, a key feature of libertarianism is lack of altruism. THE main principle, for hard-cores the only one, is personal freedom. But many who call themselves that are just amoral greedy bastards who've come to believe they can smash and grab without consequence. Because they're taking over and writing new rules -- to control us.
