Hmm. My family could really use that $20,000 in UI Benefits included in the Heroes Act

My daughter and I are both on unemployment. My wife has been back to work in fits and starts since July.

The Heroes Act provides and continues the $600-a-week Fed supplemental UI benefit that ran out on July 25. That was about 4 months ago. Had that benefit continued, both my daughter and I would have each received close to $9600 in benefits. Instead, my daughter receives $97 a week while my benefit has decreased from $450 a week to $224. I just received a notice from CA EDD that I am eligible to receive an additional 7 weeks in benefits after my current claim is exhausted, but at the reduced-yet-again rate of $167 a week.

The government is responsible for people losing their jobs and incomes, but they provide no help.

In the meanwhile, the Senate Rs do nothing, enjoying their tax-payer funded salaries of $174,000 a year, as many of us exhaust our savings while be ignored by the few employers looking to hire.

Welcome to Republican America.

Baffles me. He Really is passionate about avoiding help for the poor. Evil, sick man. He knows many are dying as a result of his stonewalling

I can’t see the Republican Senate agreeing to any more COVID relief for the American people. Cruz and Paul have both dug in their heels and won’t support it. It’s likely to get very ugly.

winning in 24. What we as a party must do is have Joes back and attack the do nothing Senate (if we don't get the Senate) and stick together like glue...no progressive/moderate war or we are truly fucked. Now I hope we get the Senate...seats but I see too many posts already whining about what Biden will or won't do. We must be united.

When you are unemployed, you pay way more for insurance too...You post really makes me sad and makes me believe the GOP is successful in pitting people against each other.

8. Bullshit. It's equal to earning $15 for a forty-hour work week.

In my case, the $600 still provided me with LESS than I was earning before my job went away.

And yes - print more money. It’s ONLY money. It’s worth less than losing a single life. Where does the money come from? Rescinding tRump’s tax scam for the rich. Doing away with the current cap on payroll taxes. And why do we only worry where the money is coming from when it helps the least among us? Fucking RW talking point - hope you’re proud regurgitating the same.

Cut spending? Let’s start by lowering Congressional pay to $60k a year. Then we’ll see just how quickly Rs start looking out for middle income earners.

Right, let's just let people die in the streets to appease resentful right wingers. Good fucking plan.
