in NY. He said trump knows all the trouble he's in and is going to create as much havoc in hopes that he gets a deal to leave and not get prosecuted. He said things will probably get much worse. Whatever horrible thing you can think of, its going to be much worse.
Well, now for the good news. He doesn't think trump will run again. He thinks the Republican Party will move on from trump when he gets prosecuted and the evidence starts coming out. He doubts they will want to associate themselves with him when all the fraud he's guilty of starts to come out.

(58,785 posts)For a "Mooch," he's in standard style, isn't he? The Republicans are eager to distance, the open GA senate seats acting as a rope around their necks just bad luck.
And of course Trump and Mooch are s working on their tawdry brands, as always.
Seriously, I've always hoped/believed our people could limit Trump's damage with deals. Until Jan 20 at noon, he will continue to be the most dangerous man on the planet.

(4,737 posts)EVERYTHING, every single crime since 1/21/2016, down to the merest traffic violation, signed sealed and spoken in open court. No legal troubles if he just admits, publicly, to his base, that he's been the most utterly corrupt, treacherous, venal politician in American history.
Then, let the banks have at him. He still dies broke, broken, and unloved - that satisfies me.

(4,737 posts)I think a confession would actually flip more of his followers than a trial; the investigations and trials will give them the fig leaf of "political persecution" that they can collectively holler about till their dying breath.
It's all a moot point anyway, he'd never in a million years confess to anything, if he even does believe he did wrong - it's just a nice idea to kick about.

That would be stupid. And dangerous.
In America, the outgoing President leaves. They don't get to negotiate their exit. This is not up for debate. It's an already settled point.

He'd be lucky to still be alive by then.

(1,601 posts)Biden is old enough to remember how Gerald Ford's pardoning of Nixon cost him a second term. Biden won't make retribution a political issue, but won't stand in the way of SDNY either.
Besides, this is Trump's standard operating procedure. When a con goes south, he makes himself so obnoxious that people will cut a deal with him just to get him out of their face. He will make some promises he has no intention to keep in order to avoid prosecution, all while looming like an 800 pound gorilla squatting in your living room.
