(8,415 posts)violence in movies and tv shows. But something about the dick-nose people makes me want to see them take a baseball bat to the face. Why do they think the swab goes UP THE NOSE to look for the virus? That's where it's coming out of, fools!

(11,686 posts)I even saw one with a picture of the wrong way and proper way to wear a mask. Amazing how many people have not made it past "Dick and Jane."

(17,757 posts)And there was a mother and toddler without masks, the toddler was coughing up a storm, a deep, wet cough. Mom appeared to be totally unconcerned. There are places in my area that enforce masks wearing, and places that don't. I will not return to those who don't even after this pandemic event passes. Their attitude has blown it with me.

(35,436 posts)A woman at Lowes told my husband its too hard to wear them over your nose all,day long. I keep way far away those people, like ten feet away or more, if I can.

(11,686 posts)were talking about under the nose wearers and I told her that we call them "nose dicks" her and another teller almost died laughing. They sure liked that and I am sure they will use it now.

(7,904 posts)Most have simply forgotten it in their cars. In most encounters I simply have to pantomime and wave my hand in front of my face to let them know they have forgotten to put on their mask. Drunk non-maskers are more difficult. Perhaps even more difficult are the regulars that I know that simply don't want to walk back home to get their mask and try to talk me into letting them into the store. Never mind that County Health Department officials do spot checks constantly here in Las Vegas which can result in fines and firings...inconsiderate people that want you to break the rules just for them. Zero tolerance!
Let's just say that I've been treated pretty poorly by some customers since the pandemic began. We got a small raise from corporate at the beginning of all this but all in all I would have rather just stayed home with everyone else these last nine months and drawn unemployment. I've been punched, spit on and even had a full bottle of beer thrown at my head.
But I still have a bloody job!

(5,467 posts)Everyday you are on the front lines providing a necessary service while risking your lives for a grossly inadequate salary. I make a point to always thank my cashier, my bagger, the door monitor when I venture out to the supermarket.
You all rock!

(12,205 posts)Everyone here seems to have finally got it, all wearing masks correctly but also 2 people at door now, first one makes sure about mask, second checks membership card.
Walking down aisle I passed a mom with a small child couldn't be more than 2-3 with a tiny mask on. He looked adorable wasn't trying to take off either, I had to give that mom a lot of props for well done in training!

(14,860 posts)Do they not understand anatomy? Don't they know COVID tests are done with nose swabs? Are their masks loose fitting and falling down? (I do see people constantly pushing their mask up their nose.)

(7,183 posts)Almost all had on masks. As I turned to leave I saw a woman waiting for help from the clerk in the self check out line. She had on clothes worth more than anyone else there. She also had very expertly done makeup. She was probably in her 40s. She did not have on a mask. I so wanted to scream at her. I really wanted the clerk to say that he could not come closer because she did not have on a mask. I am sure he did not. I did talk to her (to myself) as I walked to the car and told her what I thought of her.

(4,285 posts)I rarely see anyone slip by. Even the lunch time construction workers at the deli mask up.
That being said, convenience stores a few blocks away do not enforce even their employees.

The guy at the door was a big dude, too. I'm figuring management figured there was less chance of a confrontation if a big, young dude is enforcing.
