Am I wrong to think Biden creating the post of climate czar, John Kerry, is a nod to...

progressives? Kerry even mentioned the 'young leaders' in his acceptance speech of the post, which to me translates as AOC and her signature green new deal issue, yet they're already complaining and all of the appointments haven't even been announced.

Can we get a break from the divisiveness for a while already while we see who else will be appointed?

I think progressives will be far more interested in the domestic-oriented Cabinet members like AG, Labor, HHS, HUD etc. than the foreign-oriented National Security Cabinet named today.

Yes, it’s definitely a domestic issue as well, but unlike AG, Labor, HHS, HUD etc., Climate also has a very large foreign component, including international treaties, coordination and cooperation.

Yes, it’s definitely a domestic issue as well, but unlike AG, Labor, HHS, HUD etc., Climate also has a very large foreign component, including international treaties, coordination and cooperation. The fact that a former Secretary of State, with extensive foreign contacts and foreign policy experience was chosen is a testament to the foreign policy component of Climate.

Kerry and Biden are close so im sure they discussed these things and came up with this as a way to deal with the issue.

Kerry was at hearings in Gore's subcommittee of the Commerce committee on climate change in the late 1980s. It was at an early climate change summit that he met Teresa in 1992.

None of this matters. It’s a baby step when we’re so far behind. It needs to be our agenda

persuaded Biden on the merits long ago. Kerry has referred to the climate crisis as a National Security issue for two decades.

AOC is pleased with Kerry’s role, so, perhaps you read something that gave you a false impression.

is an acknowledgment of a progressive issue's importance, an accomplishment for her championing of the issue. Again, an accomplishment for her, yet all the announcements haven't even been made but already there are complaints, almost threats, maybe you have heard, without anyone seeing what the many other appointments will be.

No branch of the party is going to get everything they want—not progressives, center-lefters, centrists nor conservative Dems.

Give the President-elect a chance as he's the one we elected to run the government, not Dem factions.
