They are merely pro-white birth. Today's ruling by the SCOTUS on preventing limitation on gatherings at churches proves it.

(17,094 posts)play in society as well as their relationship to the state. They think that they should have no oversight by the government, making their own laws and dealing with people under their own authority. Frankly, they're nuts! Just look at how out of control religions already are in this country, raping huge amounts of children and adults and bilking gullible people out of their savings. If they're pro-life, it's only so there will be more people around for them to screw over.

Cons have a whole bag of trigger words and phrases like abortion and Guns Rights. Or, taxes-taxes lowered to the point where roads, schools, and social programs are not only lesser but become useless or dysfunctional.

(7,856 posts)anti universal health care - check
pro cops choking suspects and/or cutting off blood flow - check
anti prenatal care for poor women - check
anti birth control - check
pro large gatherings in churches, bars, and everywhere else - check
anti abortion at any stage for any reason - check
and a couple dozen more things I haven't thought of
They are pro punishing women for having sex. Nothing more. Your OP stands.

(57,171 posts)Do you eat meat? (They always answer "yes." )
and
Do you support the death penalty? (They always answer "yes." )
I then tell them, "then you are not pro life. You are pro-death. You only support denying women the right to an abortion."
They inevitably whine in protest. Whine away, I don't care.

(8,807 posts)I don't think Christianity is very strong on animal rights, or the environment for that matter.
Native American religions are much, much better. They don't get a lot of credit for that. It's a shame.

(10,892 posts)They only have interest in "life" when it's a fetus attached to the womb of a girl or woman - and they wish to use that as a lever of control over her. Outside that, they don't give a rat's ass about 'life'.

(13,802 posts)If RW evangelicals were pro-life they would be a leading force urging everyone to wear masks and socially distance. Instead, they are super spreaders.
If RW evangelicals were pro-life they would be a leading force for protecting our natural environment which sustains life itself, and for protecting all of God's creation including the beautiful plant and animal life. Instead, they enthusiastically support destroying natural ecosystems and spewing toxins which cause birth defects and shorten lives.
If RW evangelicals were pro-life they would support universal health insurance. Instead, they're just fine with denying health care to poor people and those who lose their insurance when they lose their job in the next recession. As long as they have theirs, others can have death.
Jesus spread a message of love and caring for the poor and sick. He spoke of welcoming the stranger, and of the sins of the rich.
Those who've joined Trump's death cult embrace the exact opposite. They are hypocrites of the worst kind, claiming the high ground of morality while embracing the most amoral POtuS ever to bring death and shame to America.
They see themselves as victims when fewer Americans join the ranks of the religious. They are their own worst enemies, driving others away who want no part of their death cult and rank hypocrisy.
They are destroying the good name of Christianity and of America, spreading death and hatred instead of love, kindness, and the nurturing of life.
