A happy Thanksgiving story

As many of you know, I live in a small, rural, very red FL county. Still, we have an active and growing Democratic presence, if not in government, at least in LTEs in the local paper and enthusiasm in our clubs and caucuses.

This year, for the first time, SO and I put out yard signs - for Biden/Harris and the Democrat who ran for Congress. We have never done so before because a) we know our neighbors are Republicans, now Trump cultists, and b) we live in the last house on a dead end street. Still, we decided to represent this year.

Last evening, SO was working in the yard and a young couple walked by with their small children - unique enough in our mostly-senior citizen neighborhood. The husband approached SO and explained that he and his wife, both nurses, had bought a house on the next block a few months ago.

He approached SO to thank him for putting up the yard signs. He said it really lifted their spirits to know they weren't alone, politically, in the neighborhood.

It made our night! I'm still smiling. We can make progress, even if it is just another Democrat in the neighborhood.

I live in a tiny rural red Florida county too. Our Biden signs disappeared.

So your story really cheered me up today.

I have a neighbor who I've known for 25 years. He's definitely Republican and his wife of about 10-15 years is rabidly so.

Nice guy, truly. But his wife is pretty wacko. After 45's loss I checked her timeline and every single pro-trump post (there were dozens) had been scrubbed from Facebook. I hadn't noticed earlier because I made myself absent from Facebook until Biden had his GSA authorization.

It might seem petty of me but I took a lot of joy from this. Even thw RW nut jobs in my neighborhood recognize that 45 is poison.

with whom we've always had a good relationship, put up a Dotard sign after we did ours.

Theirs is still up.

I live in a predominantly Red Neighborhood, and all the Trumphumpers didn't put up a single sign in their front yards unlike previous years..........It goes to show what a bunch of chicken S***s they all are, and are openly ashamed of their political beliefs....
