Some moron tweeting about Vanderbilt kicker Sarah Fuller.

Read his Twitter page at your own risk. I hope she meets him one day and kicks his sorry ass.

(26,047 posts)It had to do with him being a shitty coach, and Vandy losing sooo much.
They are lucky they had her, since their special teams have been destroyed by CV19.

(26,047 posts)Fuller had a nice squib kick, and did her job when no one else was available to do it for Vandy.
Yeah, the coach was fired because he sucks, and CV19 had decimated the team. A woman kicker had nothing to do with it, no matter what that poster is implying.

(2,021 posts)She did exactly what she was supposed to.
I am disappointed she didn't get to kick an extra point or field goal.
And yes, I was rooting for her to do well.

(9,317 posts)Lets see what shes got, right? Speaking as a football fan, it almost always backfires doing a squib kick or pooch kick. Also too bad Vandy sucks so much she never got a chance to kick a FG or PAT
ProfessorGAC
(64,857 posts)That was what the coach directed.
I agree on the FG or PAT thing, too.
What would make it super cool is that she would have ended up on the NCAA all-time scoring list. Even if it was the only 1 point, she'd be in the book.

(26,047 posts)But, Vandy is too bad this year.
She had a nice squib kick.
haele
(12,640 posts)They didn't want her to get tackled nor did they want her to have to tackle a member of the opposing team in the event the kick was returned for significant yardage.
But she apparently told the team at half-time that she noticed the difference between her SEC championship soccer team and the football team is that no one on the football team was encouraging each other, there was no cheering when someone did well, and she had never seen such a glum, passive bench in her athletic career.
Soon after, the coach was fired.
I think she would be great for field goals, especially if they were worried about her safety. Too bad the offense never got close enough for her to show what she could do.

Jeebo
(2,021 posts)That would explain why she immediately started walking off the field after the kick.

When the first women earned their way into the ranks of the Army's tank crews, including the first female officer and tank commander, a few years ago, there was some catastrophic outrage on Facebook pages devoted to tankers. Howling cries of "SJW politically-correct garbage!!!1!1!"
Because they couldn't fathom the reality that the military really is a meritocracy. It does the Armored Corps no good to put people in the country's tanks who aren't up for the job just for the sake of public approbation. So, although these women earned their place in the turret, some idiots couldn't accept that and convinced themselves that the Army lowered its standards.

Easiest mute I ever made (not important enough to block). His account may be a parody, but if this is its standard, I won't miss much.
Odd the OP felt the need to bring it here.
Trashing thread.

(15,298 posts)I had folks bitching about women on combatant ships. Most of the complaints were that if they got pregnant they could get out of sea duty, as if pregnancy would be something you did to just get out of work.
Seemed like every week I was losing male Sailors because they blew out their knee, fell off a ladder cleaning gutters, or my personal favorite, driving up to the gate stinking drunk.
I lost way more work hours for those reasons, and the women who worked for me tended to be smarter, harder working, innovative and much less likely to have disciplinary issues.
Any veteran who is against women in the military has never worked with them.

(3,622 posts)Completely agree with you.
The Navy had just begun the process of integrating women into a number of the sea- going rate ratings during my four years.
Today's Navy is a better place as a result.

... girls don't generally set their minds to growing beards.
And if, for example, men are better tennis players than women, that doesn't mean Serena Williams can't kick your butt. It's a matter of a pair of standard normal distributions with averages that are different, yet the curves still overlap.

(64,857 posts)As great as Anika was, she had zero chance in a PGA event. She knew it, but wanted to give it one shot. She didn't make the cut, and said there'd be no second try.
But, she was arguably the best woman player ever.
That said, the best player I was on the course with was Danielle Ammacapane. She was around 30 at the time and I played in her group at an LPGA event.
The two of us played blue tees. Another guy white, and a woman amateur played the red tees.
I played well, and shot a 2 under 70.
She shot a 68 and spent 75% of the round giving tips and lessons to the other 2 people.
She was barely focusing on her game & shot 4 under.
I know she would have, over 4 rounds, beaten every good golfer I've ever known.
Against most 12 handicaps, she could take 6 iron, wedge, and a putter and beat them by 10 strokes, easy.
Could she handle herself with Tiger? No. But, then hardly anybody could.
She was superb at every aspect of the game. I enjoyed that day immensely.

(12,640 posts)Not because I could kick farther or was faster than boys my age - and I was a wee thing back then, the lightest person on the team.
It was because I had field presence- I knew where everyone on the field was or would be from wherever I was, and I had more control on my clearing kicks, even when I was making a sliding tackle. I could also jump higher than most of the boys and land well.
I could engage with an opposing player, get the ball away from him, and clear it exactly where I wanted it to go before he usually knew what was happening; made four assist before I was intentionally fouled hard enough to break my ankle and end my season. And yes, it did affect the way the team played from then on; we never scored right off a fullback clear after that. I may have been smaller, slower, and just a girl, but we had a few more scores on average against us after I left.
So I know exactly why she said what she said.
Stupid boys with their stupid pride.

Wow, he can type his rants into Wordpress! What talent! (He can't even be bothered to remove the "Generated Homepage" tags from whatever Wordpress template he's using. Learn To Code, bucko!). He takes advantage of giant Internet companies to get a free platform! (Not for long...YouTube is banhammer-happy with chuds). And he has a podcast! (Another undeserved free platform).
Here's the kicker (no pun intended): "...having been suspended from medical school...". He blames lesbian feminists (of course). See his blog FFI.
