and I speak from experience.
About ten years ago I was walking across a darkened yard before sunrise at the company I worked for, and stepped over a wooden pallet I could barely make out in the dark (This was pretty much the only way to the bathroom) and when my left foot came down, it landed on another piece of wood that rolled away from me, breaking my foot.
More specifically, I had a Lisfranc fracture and dislocation of the second metatarsal.
I walked back to the dispatch office and found my supervisor. "I think I just broke my foot" I told him.
I ran the days deliveries anyway, and by the time I got back to the yard at 5ish, I couldn't put any weight on it AT ALL. I read about the injury and found that the most common treatment for it was amputation!
I could completely understand that, as it fucking hurt like a mofo!
I had to have surgery and a screw was put in and I was in a boot for about 6 weeks. It sucked completely.
I sincerely hope the President Elect has a speedy recovery, and isn't in too much pain.
Want to fuck with someone and make them think of you for weeks and weeks? Stomp the living shit out of the top of their foot. Lots and lots of very delicate bones and joints in there!
