as the individual who has won the most total votes when running for President if he is the Republican's candidate in 2024. He is already that right now having 1-2M or so more than Obama.

(17,857 posts)How many individuals run for President three times - there has only been four from major parties (Roosevelt four times, Nixon, Cleveland, and Jackson).

(17,090 posts)As the world and US population grows, obviously each subsequent candidate will garner more votes than predecessors. Somewhat mitigated by your (unhelpful) practice of non-compulsory voting, I have no doubt he WILL NOT survive the scrutiny of history.

(6,011 posts)Then add in all of the crap we don't know about yet that will be exposed after he leaves office.
He's damaged goods now. It will only get worse for him.

(51,432 posts)to get publicity for his "brand". He never wanted the job but he was able to grift off of it big time and he had the whole country's attention on HIM constantly for 4 years, money and ego are what drives him. He'll say he's running and make a ton of money from scamming his cult and he will be in the media non-stop...he's hooked on this now. The court battles ahead will allow him to be in the headlines and he'll hold rallies and charge a fee to attend plus 1,001 other money schemes.

(13,400 posts)that's what it took to take down Trump. Considering what a fascist regime in the United States might have meant world wide. That could have been millions of deaths over time.

(1,737 posts)That spot will go to Kamala in 2024 since Biden has implied that he won't run again. President/VP, it doesn't matter since we vote for a ticket, not just one person. However, I doubt that Trump will be in any position to run in 2024. Also, Obama is never going to run again, so I don't get the comparison and the leap from Joe and Kamala to Obama.

(16,616 posts)He will be remembered as the first U.S. President to attempt an autocratic takeover of our country by breaking the conventions of Democracy from within. And as the leader of the most corrupt administration in our history.
What I hope he's not remembered as is the POTUS who began the process of flipping us from a Democratic Republic to an authoritarian state, meaning a process that hasn't concluded yet.
Because once a country has come this close to the brink, it's not so unimaginable it won't happen again, possibly soon.
Hitler isn't remembered as "the first German Chancellor who liked to paint."
