Just got the work email - going back to Phase II.

That means no one in the office except admin. Since that’s me it looks like me or my coworker will still be going in to check the mail and deliveries. Other than security and maintenance we’ll probably be the only ones there. My coworker for some reason doesn’t like teleworking so I’ll probably have two days a week.

Speaking of deliveries - a friend tells me the local Amazon processing center will handle 280,000 packages TODAY.

How much notice did you get?

I'm in NYC and I'm afraid of getting that kind of notice soon.

We have a morning meeting so I checked my email and saw it. I don’t get work email on my phone so if I had been in the normal morning routine I wouldn’t have known.

The Commonwealth went back over 10% positivity rate which is one of the main stats to advise organizations about phases. Not sure what the state government is doing yet.

Son's company has been doing it since early spring. He and about 10% of staff work in the office about 3 or 4 days a week, but most are either at home or dispersed company locations. Those in the office are distanced, masked, no food services, no use of common areas or equipment, no group meetings.

So I imagine it's tougher to switch back and forth. If I were in a position of authority I would strongly encourage companies that can work remotely to set up the infrastructure to do so. Many companies have a cultural bias against it as they fear employees will slack off if they are not constantly watched but we've actually seen productivity increases. My company is global and they took the pandemic seriously and made a concerted effort to deal with it.
