She summed it up beautifully at the end: Our campaign finance system is the main reason why so many people in Congress, especially Republicans, put corporate interests above the interests of average Americans. It's why the Covid relief bill is being held hostage by Mitch McConnell until he gets his way and the corporations who donate to his campaign are shielded from lawsuits from workers over work-related Covid infections.

I love that Portman herself does not accept money from super pacs or corporate lobbying. We need a whole Congress made up of Katie Portmans, in addition to overturning Citizens United and making lobbying illegal.
